Sentosa

Went Sentosa today with Junwei and the 2 Chinese teachers from China. We visited the Dolphine Lagoon (there was nothing much there), underwater world, Herb and Spice Garden and went for the Luge and Skyride.

We met up at 8.30am at CCK mrt station and we only left Sentosa around 4.30pm. It was a long but fun day. Took lots of pictures though.

Mum's birthday

My mum's birthday!
All of us just had a filling dinner at International Seafood VIENNA teppanyaki buffet at Novena. Each person plus GST sums up to about $43. We all had such a great time eating and eating and eating haha.. I can even feel my stomach exploding. Thank God for the wonderful dinner and the wonderful time we had.

Azrin! Thank you!!

I can't put into words how much Azrin loves me as a friend. She made a 3 min and 15 seconds clip just for me. A tribute just for me and our friendship. It's so nicely done. With appropriate songs, pictures and wordings that touched me so much. 10 reasons why she will miss me and care bears pictures! Oh man.. only she and I know why it's care bear hehe..

I'm so thankful for her. In the midst of her busyness, she made this clip for me. In the midst of burning her weekday/weekend to dedicate this work for me. And foolish me, left the disc on the table for 5 days before i took to play it. I'm really touched for Azrin dear, more than colleagues, more than just friends! She is my ultimate soul mate! (Sry to make her sounds like my bf but i think she can be on par if not better!)

So thankful that i met you...

Othman

Actually i just want to upload this photo cos i think i look good. But i cannot put that as my main reason cos i'm shy. So othman, since i have not yet thank you to be my friend, this post is dedicated to you cos you are in the pic! I have already talked about Azrin previously so this is just for you... Happy? Hehehe
I find Othman charming. Do you?

West View Family Day

I'm happy today because i went to my school's family day. Not regretted going cos the games were not tiring and fun.. And with Azrin around, at least i'm not lonely! We were at Sentosa, the new beach which i dunno how to spell the name, and spend the morning there with the games. The company were great but the food not to the standard. But still thank God for the food. (Suddenly realise i'm writing like a Primary 4 kid. Am i reading too much of their compositions?)

Mr Tan Coon Wei :)

Taken at Botanic Garden on 22-12-06

This is my boyfriend, Mr Tan Coon Wei. Thankful for his love for me. He is so sweet to agree to go on cruise with me :)

There are too many reasons why i am in love with him. Yes we do quarrel, we do go on cold war occasionally, but we always reflect and get some lessons learnt. That's what makes our relationship going strong.

No relationship is perfect. It's the love, faith and hope that keeps it going.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Azrin - my practicum friend!

Taken on 14-4-07. West View Pri Family Day
Thank God for a friend like Azrin. She makes my practicum so fun and she really makes a good company. We really click and we enjoy good times together like going school to and fro (when it comes to this, i want to be thankful to her for having a family car!! Cos it's either she drives me to sch or her kind dad will do so), going to canteen to buy breakfast and having to eat the 'siew mai' outside staff room, going for lunch - mee rebus only from specific stall, and sharing resources where she always lend me the black circles things to teach maths!

Teaching is made meaningful and supportive to have the right colleague to share your happiness and woes with you.

I have mixed feelings.. i want you to be back in West View, but on the other hand, i wish you can have better prospects. How Azrin dear? Thankful for you....

My family

Thank God for the air i breathe, for His daily providence, for this life He has given me.

2nd row from left: 2nd sis, eldest sis, eldest bro-in-law
1st row from left: dad, mum, me

Thank God for a supportive and open-minded mother. My mother does not nag, does not claim credits for the tremendous tons of housework, does not scold when I did wrong things and is supportive of my relationship with my bf. No mum can be compared to her :)

Thank God for my father who shows favortism to me among his 3 daughters. It's good that he loves me. But it's not good when he shows favortism. Though he is not expressive in his words, he shows loves through his actions.

Thank God for my 2 elder sisters. Though we do quarrel at times, but it's always nice to have someone to admire the new clothes, bag, shoes etc you just bought through 'fashion-showing' to them.

Lastly, thank God for my boyfriend. I'm really thankful for him. He is not perfect, but at least what really makes me appreciate him is his efforts to love me. As i have always said, there are 5 love languages and mine is 'words of affirmation'. It so happen that he is not expressive and for him to speak my love lang is not ez. But he makes the effort. Its his efforts that make me feel loved.

Thank God for the least significant things i have. What's more people who are important to me.

Giving thanks to helpful and friendly CTs

Thought of all my wonderful Cooperating Teachers (CT) - Mr Zaifar, Mdm Ngiam and Ms Kathy Tan. For non-teachers infor, CT is the person who gives you his/her class to teach, he/she will guide you and assess your teaching.

Mr Zaifar is a very humble man with about 8 years of teaching experience. He shares a lot of his experience with me and taught me a lot of useful tips. 1 of it I must share with all teachers is that when you have groupwork or any task that is time-orientated, place a stop watch on the visuliser and set it to count down. He said that students might not have the concept of time and showing that on visualiser will give them a sense of time. Good tip!! Make sure it has a beeper too..

Mdm Ngiam is fierce.. oh yes she is.. but you know what? It works! These students need fierce and firm teachers to be disciplined. Initially i thought to myself how poor thing these kids are to face a fierce teacher everyday. But I have changed my perceptions totally. It's really a balance of firmness and friendliness. I see how her students can joke and have fun with her out of the classroom and listen to her instructions during the class. It's really important to get them to listen because that is the way to get your lesson going. She taught me to off the lights during groupwork to get their attention. It works! She taught me to get them fold them arms and sit up straight. It works! These kids have to be trained man!

And Ms Kathy Tan.. a young teacher who is so friendly that she took initiative to add me on MSN. No airs and being very helpful. I admire her love for the children.. Sometimes these children so unlovable but she learnt to love them. I seriously shld accept who they are and find more time to understand them.

Thankful to have friendly and helpful CTs. Heard from some friends that have got sucky ones.. Maybe think on a positive side of your CT and you will feel better :)
